Who will be helping you?
Hi, I’m Dr. Andzik!
I am an IEP advocate and educational consultant with over 20 years of experience supporting students with disabilities across various educational settings, including fully inclusive general education classrooms, special education programs, and separate schools. I hold a Ph.D. in Special Education and Applied Behavior Analysis and am a Board Certified Behavior Analyst at the doctoral level (BCBA-D).
I specialize in supporting students with autism, developmental disabilities, complex communication needs, and behavior challenges. I understand how to bridge compliance with individualized, evidence-based support that meets student needs.
As a tenured Associate Professor at Northern Illinois University, I teach courses on behavior supports, inclusive teaching, and assistive technology. My research has been published in over 40 peer-reviewed journals and book chapters, and I have presented my work at more than 80 national and international conferences on topics such as augmentative and alternative communication (AAC), paraeducator training, in-service teacher support, collaboration, and family and behavior support.
Whether you are a parent navigating the special education system or a school team seeking to enhance supports for students with disabilities, I provide practical, research-based strategies tailored to each situation.
